Microsemi's SmartFusion Dual Motor Control Kit combines TRINAMIC's TMCM-AC-840 Daughter Board Kit with the SmartFusion evaluation kit to deliver a SmartFusion intelligent mixed signal FPGA motor control prototyping platform for stepper and brushless DC motors (BLDC).

The TMCM-AC-840 Daughter Board connects to the Microsemi SmartFusion™ Evaluation Kit via the mixed signal header connector. The kit features one TMC603A pre-driver IC with BLDC power stage as well as one TMC262 coolStep™ stepper motor driver IC. Two motors are included so the daughter board can be used with the SmartFusion board on the bench right away to test and prototype your motor control and motion control application scenarios.

Note: The DUAL-MOTOR-CONTROL-KIT is RoHS compliant.

  • 200,000 System FPGA gates, 256 KB flash memory, 64 KB SRAM, and additional distributed SRAM in the FPGA fabric and external memory controller
  • Peripherals include Ethernet, DMAs, I2Cs, UARTs, timers, ADCs, DACs and additional analog resources

• SPI-flash memory connected to SPI_0 on the device
• USB connection for programming and debug from Microsemi's design tools

• Tightly connected to the SmartFusion™ analog IOs and analog computing engine (ACE)
• All signals of the Mixed Signal Header can be accessed via a pin header for test and measurement
• Parallel operation of BLDC & stepper motor (requires 2 power supplies)
• Pin-compatible to the Microsemi SmartFusion Evaluation Kit or Development Kit
• Independent voltage supplies for Stepper and BLDC block
